The profile we are looking for will work in the Commont Architecture, Tool, and Methodologies Practice, is an experienced and enthusiastSW Application engineer passionate about learning new technologies and frameworks coming from Open Source communities, expert in SW development best practices, curious in framework scouting, assessment, prototyping, and keen to standardization. During his daily activities:Will be responsible for interacting with R&D technical stakeholders to support the adoption and onboarding of new open-source technologies and frameworks. Will have the role of harmonizing the technologies and frameworks across different development teams with a special focus on Open Source SW components. Will have to supervise and enforce the adherence to standard processes for the selection of open-source frameworks by collaborating withgroups deputed to grant SW quality assurance providing evaluation of criteria like security, supportability, performance, and frequency of patching. Will collaborate with R&D teams to assess and reduce possible technical debts in CTG products and push them toward innovation. Will handle the integration of open source adoption and management in CTG products with corporate validation processes enabling automation of recurrent tasks. Will manage maintenance plan for already in a place open source components (deprecation, security enforcement, release upgrade) and will align it with CTG product release management processesWill be the owner of the new centralized artifact repository and will have full control over who is using what, providing metrics and KPIs of adherence to best practices to the management. On-demand can be engaged in customer meetings to provide trusted advisors with professional opinions on SW architecture. Contribute to the growth of the team as a central focal point for CTG Software technology improvement objective and maintain good relationships with team members. Understand the company’s and business unit's strategy. Can Participate in chosen technical community or profession, and regularly attends profession or community of interest events. The job is in an international context and requires a master of English. As part of a WW team with cross-domain interactions, US location is not mandatory and alternative locations will be considered as well. Although not strictly related to the role, the candidate shall be available to travel if required for special events or customer meetings. Education and Experience Required:At least 12 years of technical experience and an Associate of Engineering/Science or equivalent degree (minimum three-year college program) in computer science or related area of study; without a degree, threeadditional years of relevant technical experience (12-15 years in total). Knowledge and Skills Required:The person we are looking for is passionate about technology and innovation, capable of building a solid partnership with colleagues to provide technical leadership in key SW engineering choices. . He/She will be in a position to drive solutions and act in advance to envision, design and deliver innovative solutions.
