Researcher in Mathematical Optimization for Mobility and Logistics
Researcher in Mathematical Optimization for Mobility and Logistics Researcher in Mathematical Optimization for Mobility and LogisticsCurrently we have a large amount of mobility data, coming from traditional data sources, but also from new data sources enabled by vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) connectivity, telephony data, data from image analysis, etc. All these data enable a host of technological challenges, from the way they are captured, synchronized and preprocessed to new methods of mobility modeling and scenario simulation. All this, together with the advancement of Artificial Intelligence, gives rise to new tools that enable the detection and prediction of events, as well as an optimization in mobility planning as a whole. Within the department of Intelligent Systems for Mobility and Logistics of Vicomtech, we work developing advanced technologies for the analysis of large amounts of spatio-temporal data as well as optimization algorithms that allow planning both in advance and in real time. Candidates must have:Education: Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or Engineering with Master's degree in Mathematical Modeling, Operations Research or similar. A PhD degree would be an asset. Experience: experience in development of applications for route planning, tasks, logistics, etc. or simulation/prediction of mobility and logistics environments will be an asset. Specific knowledge: knowledge in optimization algorithms (linear programming, heuristic algorithms. . . ), Reinforcement Learning, regression models (Random Forest, Principal Components, etc. ) will be an asset. Technical skills: programming skills in Python and/or C++. Languages: spoken and written English (English B2 or higher would be an asset). We value candidates:People management and technology leadership skills. We offer:Joining a dynamic, innovative and leading Center in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Visual Computing & Interaction at international level with work centers in Donostia - San Sebastian and Bilbao. Attractive national and international research and development projects with cutting-edge technology. Multidisciplinary work team within the Intelligent Systems for Mobility and Logistics department. Creative freedom to conduct research aligned with the Center's management procedures. Personal development through training and educational opportunities. Career opportunities and professional progression. Work-life balance policies to achieve a balance between work and family life. Equal employment opportunities.
