Oracle NetSuite's ecommerce solution is a complex, single page web application used by customers across the globe, and our engineering team is responsible for keeping it performant and scalable. We're looking for a Software Engineer with solid experience of end-to-end performance monitoring tools and techniques spanning database, Java application and JavaScript technologies. We're passionate about instrumentation, performance optimization and continuous improvement across the whole stack and software development lifecycle. You'll be responsible for building out the instrumentation tooling and associated guidance, as well as (directly or indirectly) helping teams monitor and improve the performance of their code. What we do involves working with a number of Engineering and Infrastructure teams across the organization, so solid communication and collaboration skills are essential. This is an opportunity to work in a small team that directly influences how our ecommerce solution is built. Requirements: 3+ years' professional experience in the IT industry You have at least a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent You are familiar with internet fundamentals like TCP/IP, HTTP/S & DNS You are familiar with the concepts of cloud-based architecture You have an appetite for understanding the whole application architecture and helping to tune its performance across the board You are preferably familiar with technologies like React, Node. js, Elasticsearch, Micronaut, Redis and OpenTelemetry You know how to use debugging and performance profiling tools across browsers, APIs and server-side applications You have experience with scripting things like Bash, Python or Node. js You can write understandable, testable code with a focus on maintainability and scalability You are a clear communicator comfortable working as part of a team and interacting with others more and less technical than yourself You are excited about learning, but equally ready to teach Detailed Description and Job Requirements Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc. As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs. Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
