Director, Global Vaccine Policy
Johnson & Johnson Worldwide Government Affairs & Policy is recruiting for the position of Director, Global Vaccine Policy. This exciting position will be responsible for advancing vaccine policy and advocacy on behalf ofJohnson & Johnson with a focus on global institutions (such as GAVI, WHO, UNICEF, CEPI) and limitedresource settings in partnership with teams from across the company. The Vaccine Policy Director will report to the Global Vaccine Policy Lead working closely to ensurecoordination of strategy and execution of policy priorities across all market archetypes. Theposition has a "dotted reporting line" to the Global Public Health organization and will workcollaboratively across multiple functions including Janssen R&D, Janssen GCSO, Janssenregulatory affairs, the Office of the Chief Scientific Officer, Supply Chain, WWGA&P partners, and other organizations across the enterprise. Key Responsibilities: Lead J&J's policy development in the areas of global immunization, access and procurement mechanisms and policies; incentive mechanisms, advanced market commitments primarily for assets/disease areas with relevant impact in low-income countries. Drive J&J's interests and advance our policy agenda at IFPMA and other trade organizations, related to global institutions such as GAVI and WHO, and work streams such as life-course immunization, immunization systems and value of vaccines. Lead the policy function representation in launch teams and provide experienced policy support to market access work in limited resource settings and markets with centralized procurement mechanisms. Support engagement of global and regional commercial teams with global and regional vaccines partners to facilitate access & implementation in low- and mid-income countries (GAVI/PAHO/WHO/AU/Africa CDC). Enable execution of product-specific policy strategy and related external engagement plan working closely with teams in priority countries. Support local teams with tools to implement policy agenda such as positions, analysis and talking points. Serve as subject matter expert on global institutions and vaccine policies affecting low-income countries in internal strategic forums, contributing to the development of J&J's overall policy agenda, across all market archetypes. QualificationsEducation:MBA/Master's in related field: Science, Health Policy, Public Health, Law or other relevant areasof specializationExperience and Skills:Required: 10+ years of experience in vaccines 5+ years in policy roles Self-starter, motivated Solid understanding of vaccine and public health policies and immunization systems. Proven record in identifying policy trends affecting public and private health sector and advancing policy solutions. Strong oral and written communication skills to influence and effectively lead internal and external audiences to desired outcomes. Demonstrated leadership ability to identify strategic priorities, bring together different internal partners, and deliver results. Ability to work cross-functionally and be able to lead up, down and across for results. Strong cross-cultural collaboration skills. Sound ethical judgement and integrity and an ability to build effective working relationships both internally and externally. Ability to handle numerous, challenging priorities under pressure and effective collaborative working and program management skills. Preferred: Experience working in the biopharmaceutical sector desirable. International work experience and foreign language skills Other:Location within the European time zone is required.
