Data Product Director, Portfolio
The Role: is an ideal position for someone looking to develop entrepreneurial skills and drive the next generation of portfolio solutions at Morningstar. The Managed Investments Data team is seeking a Data Product Director, Portfolio to manage portfolio data initiatives. You will collaborate closely with a global team, using your influence and initiative to add significant value to complex, strategic projects. You will develop expertise in complex investment products and portfolio analysis and interact with senior stakeholders in Research and Products, in addition to external institutional investors, gatekeepers, and asset managers Role & Responsibility: Collaborate with a global team of subject matter experts, operational leaders, product managers, and technologists to establish and set the roadmap for Morningstar’s portfolio data offerings Understand and meet advanced portfolio analytics needs for investors globally, coordinating communications, dashboard, and other outreach requirements Drive enhancements of portfolio data architecture utilizing Morningstar Data Lake and Analytics Lab (Jupyter/Python) Maintain deep partnership with Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) (Data Technology) to ensure roadmaps are aligned and understand EDP initiatives affect MID goals Partner with leaders of Morningstar strategic data initiatives such as Models, ESG, and Fixed Income to ensure key results are met Work effectively with the Product, Research, and Technology groups to ensure successful implementation of complex projects Work with the Managed Investment Data operations to ensure alignment and support for key initiatives Manage a team of content researchers and product owners by establishing their objectives and goals, providing regular feedback, and developing their knowledge and skills. Requirements: Strong financial knowledge Ability to build collaborative relationships with key internal stakeholders across regions and data universes. Robust communication skills with the capability to collaborate with all parts of the organization (ie Technology, Client Service, Product, etc) Excellent technical skills, including advanced SQL and Excel An understanding of growing technologies such as Data Lake, Jupyter/Python, AI/ML Strong attention to detail, knowledge of systems, and proven analytical skills. Bachelor’s degree; CFA designation desirable A minimum of 8 years’ experience. Summary Location: London; Madrid Type: Full time
