Description Dow has an exciting opportunity for an Analytical Manager located in Tarragona, Spain. The Analytical Manager will work across multiple manufacturing labs across the site/hub or region using process chemistry and analytical knowledge, in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge and lab operations experience to identify, develop and implement optimum analytical solutions in support of process and product performance as well as Quality Control Lab improvements. This role provides analytical technical expertise, implements most effective technology, and improves analytical system performance and reliability in alignment with business / function / site analytical strategies. Responsibilities / Duties:• Promote the use of the Analytical Work Process (AWP), and EH&S and ODMS procedures and practices• Provide analytical expertise to resolve analytical issues Provide the analytical technical link to the plant, business, and functionsOptimize Sample Plans to meet the needs of stakeholders. Continuously improve and leverage EH&S and analytical best practicesRegularly interact with internal customersScreen complicated service requests for value and alignment with goals. Route analytical requests to the appropriate service provider. Provide expertise for troubleshooting and repairing analytical instruments. • Provide problem solving support to eliminate laboratory related quality incidents and quality work process failures• Implement most effective technology (MET) and laboratory improvements per the Site Analytical Strategy• Lead root cause investigations related to analytical per cGMP requirements• Monitor and improve analytical system performance and capability• Develop response plans for non-routine analytical requests• Perform complex analyses, and interpret and report analytical data• Evaluate validity of data, apply statistics, interpret results and take appropriate action in close cooperation with other functionsAnticipate analytical and product quality problems and address proactively. • Lead instrument qualification and method transferValidate and qualify new equipment and methods• Train and coach others on analytical systems and technology, and laboratory cGMP requirements• Network with other technical personnel to share analytical process and product technology and leverage problem solving and problem prevention expertise Required Qualifications:• A minimum of Master’s of Science degree is required. • A Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a lab is required. Preferred Qualifications:• A Master’s of Science degree in chemistry is preferred. • Knowledge of regulatory controls and requirements applicable to the manufacture of cGMP a plus. • This position requires good written and interpersonal skills, as well as a high degree of attention to detail. • Practical knowledge of statistical data analysis is also beneficial. This position does not offer relocation assistance.
